Tempo by Home Chef | Green News Guide Reviews

Image
Tempo meals is a weekly food delivery service that offers flavorful protein centered meals in the quantity of your choosing.  If you’ve been rocking with the Green News Guide then you might have read previous reviews about other food delivery services such as Cook Unity, Mosaic or Gobble.  Tempo was originally launched by Home Chef in October of 2023.  I found their meal selection process to be super easy and the website was very user friendly.  Customers can select the subscription of their choice based on the number of meals desired on a weekly basis. One can opt for a quantity of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16 meals per week at $11 per serving.   Ordering & Delivery process Tempo’s meals usually feature a protein (beef, chicken, fish, shrimp) that is usually paired with a vegetable medley.  There is also the choice to select from “premium” meal options that are about $3-$5 additional per serving.  One con that I noticed about Tempo is that there...

Impossible Steak Review! How does it Compare to Beyond Steak?

Image
Impossible Steak Bites Impossible released a new vegan meat product.  If you are not a frequent shopper at Whole Foods then you may not have known about its release.  This was a quiet drop as I didn’t even receive any marketing emails from Impossible about it.  Impossible Meat is my number 1 brand for alt meat because the products substitute so well for the real deal.  I always thought that Impossible would create a vegan bacon product before doing a steak because its needed. Beyond Meat also has the vegan steak game on LOCK! Beyond Steak is the steak lover turned vegetarian’s dream. There is no other brand that has outdone Beyond Meat’s vegan steak and it is my hope that they will create a full size steak option in addition to their seared tips. The Assessment Now that I’ve boasted about the #1 vegan steak, I’m sure you’re sitting on the edge of your seat and wondering what ve...

5 Natural Ingredients For Longevity

Image
The path of aging can be viewed as a bothersome, inevitable part of life to some.  Those invested in the journey  often look to various methods of biohacking as a way to lengthen what can be considered a short life  span.  The average life  expectancy for women is 80 years old and 74 years old for men.  Living to 100  years old may seem inconceivable but the reality is that there are individuals living past 100 years old.   According to the Pew Research Center, our global world is home to 722,000 centenarians most of whom  live in Asian countries such as Japan and China (Schaeffer, 2024).   The number of centenarians currently living is expected to quadruple  over the next 30 years. Will people begin to live past 200 and 300 years old in the near future? As scientific  discoveries continue to be made and longevity focused breakthroughs are attained, humans will live longer and more intelligently.   What are ...

Butter Made from Thin Air and Eggs Made from Plants

Image
There's a green company in town that is creating something out of nothing.  That something is delightfully rich butter.  This butter is vegan and made from thin air.  Yes--you heard that right.  The butter is made from air; utilizing real fat and without any impact to the environment.  Savor is the company behind this new and revolutionary fat making process.  To make the butter or fat, a carbon source is heated with hydrogen and is later mixed with oxygen from the air. Photo by Savor Savor was founded by Kathleen Alexander in San Jose, California. Their mission is to commercially produce agriculture free, healthy fats in a way that doesn't negatively affect the environment. The fats are produced without dangerous chemicals and toxins.  Butter is the first type of food that Savor has created but company has plans to expand and begin producing these fats for other foods such as ice cream, milk, cheese and meat.  These foods will all be made without...

Nikocado Avocado Woke up 250lbs Lighter! Vegan Again?!

Image
The Mukbang king, Nikocado Avocado, broke his 7 month silence after uploading a video to his channel last night.   He first appeared in the video wearing a big Panda head mask.  Beyond that gigantic panda mask, there was something noticeably different about Nick!   There was a super thin body under the mask!  Could this be a clone of Nikocado?  Is this really the same person who would down several cheeseburgers, nuggets, stuffed tacos and huge plates of noodles in one sitting?  Nikocado is the self proclaimed mukbang king of the internet and with that title came loads of weight gain. It was a real shock to see him slimmer than what he used to be as a vegan.  At the beginning of the video, he stated how he was "two steps ahead."  He went on to say that he had been a part of one of the greatest social experiments of his entire life and likened himself to being a villain of a story where he was able to have significant influence over his fo...

8 Foods with the Most Hidden Plastic

Image
Plastic is one of the most overused materials on Earth.  It is used for packaging, wraps, bottles, clothing, and various other goods.  Plastic based products are derived from non-renewable resources that are polluting the earth on a grand scale.  The fashion industry uses approximately 340 million barrels of oil to produce synthetic plastic based fibers such as nylon, polyester and acrylic.  Plastic continues to contribute to ocean pollution as it is transported through sewage treatments.  Sewage treatments or wastewater are dumped into rivers and oceans where wildlife soak up toxic micro and nano plastics. Nanoplastics in  Food Human beings ingest nano and micro plastic particles through the foods they consume. Plastics shed in a manner similar to skin and a person will not be able to tell if a food has high concentrations of microplastics in it.  Certain fruits, vegetables and proteins have been tested and found to have the highest concentrations of ...

Brave Neurosurgeon Tells Why he Left Western Medicine

Image
The field of medicine has evolved since its earliest and historical days when Hippocrates sought out a new system to explain and understand illnesses.  During those days, the main goal was to diagnose an individual's problem and provide a way to restore balance among the humors using logic and philosophy. Modernized western medicine has since become solely reliant on scientific methods and pathologic anatomy to diagnose and treat diseases (Mantri, 2008).  The original Hippocratic school of thought placed emphasis on an integrative mind-body-personality ideology or philosophy (Mantri, 2008).  The system of Western medicine has led to some ethical problems that can affect the therapeutic relationship.  Some of these problems include the depersonalization of a patient and the removal of the patient as equal partners in their care.   Calls for the return of Western medicine to its original Hippocratic roots have been made by various individuals within the field...
