The Princess of Wales brings Awareness to Holistic Healthcare Upon Completion of Three Peaks Challenge

The Princess of Wales completed the Three Peaks challenge over the weekend.  The challenge involves a blend of driving and trekking through three of the highest mountain peaks in England, Scotland and Wales--Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa. The challenge areas cover 23 miles of walking distance along with a 462 mile drive between each peak.   The challenge is open to the public and many aim to walk to the summit of the peaks within 24 hours.  However, the trek is so grueling and extensive that only 40% of the individuals attempting the challenge are able to complete it within this timeframe.  It is recommended that individuals desiring to complete the Three Peaks Challenge engage in strength training over a period of eight to twelve weeks. Whether Catherine engaged in strength training is unknown but she has always been quite athletic.  Not only did Catherine complete the challenge--she is part of the smaller percentage of people who were able to comp...

Butter Made from Thin Air and Eggs Made from Plants

There's a green company in town that is creating something out of nothing.  That something is delightfully rich butter.  This butter is vegan and made from thin air.  Yes--you heard that right.  The butter is made from air; utilizing real fat and without any impact to the environment.  Savor is the company behind this new and revolutionary fat making process.  To make the butter or fat, a carbon source is heated with hydrogen and is later mixed with oxygen from the air.

Savor was founded by Kathleen Alexander in San Jose, California. Their mission is to commercially produce agriculture free, healthy fats in a way that doesn't negatively affect the environment. The fats are produced without dangerous chemicals and toxins.  Butter is the first type of food that Savor has created but company has plans to expand and begin producing these fats for other foods such as ice cream, milk, cheese and meat.  These foods will all be made without any animal suffering or agricultural farmland.  The fats used to make the foods will be produced using carbon dioxide and water.

Savor's butter is not able to be purchased by the public at this time as they are still in the beginning phases of commercialization.  This company is one of several who are focused on producing ordinary and popular dairy foods using alternative methods or ingredients.  Ever heard of JUST egg or WunderEggs?  Just Egg has managed to create a vegan egg substitute in liquid and solid forms.  JUST egg is a popular choice in plant-based circles and can be purchased at a variety of specialty markets and grocery stores.  Just egg's core ingredient is mung bean protein. It's a suitable substitute for scrambled eggs, omelettes, frittatas and french toast.

The Just egg patty is perfect for breakfast sandwiches or when there is a desire to have a pre-made vegan egg.  I've used JUST egg on numerous occasions.  Though it doesn't taste exactly like a regular egg, it is incredibly close. Want that vegan breakfast of champions? Well, you definitely need to try JUST egg!

WunderEggs has produced a vegan hardboiled egg.  Though it looks just like a boiled egg, it contains no egg ingredients.  This egg does contain nuts so for those who are allergic--don't even think about it.

Looking at a Wunderegg, you'd think it really is the real deal.  Many have attested to the fact that it even tastes like the real thing!

Both of these egg substitutes are extremely healthy.  The nutritional value and caloric content is comparable to actual eggs.  There is about as much protein, calcium and potassium in these vegan egg substitutes as there is in an egg. The most important aspect of consuming these egg substitutes is that there is no cholesterol! If one is watching cholesterol, switching to an egg substitute might be the answer.

Dairy substitutes have come a long way.  Two decades ago, the dairy free options being produced by companies such as Savor, Just and WunderEgg were unheard of.  Being green includes eating green.  Plant based or vegan and vegetarian lifestyles are important aspects of a green lifestyle.

As technology and scientific knowledge becomes more advanced, society will be able to have access to more foods that are respective of our  environment.  More animals will be safe from harm and will be able to enjoy the lives that they have without interference from unconscientious humans.
