Should Elon Musk Sit Down With Bill Gates to Discuss Climate?

Image
The beef soup between Bill Gates and Elon Musk doesn't seem to be simmering down any time soon!  The two had a small online spat during the pandemic in 2020 but it seems that engine has revved up again recently when Bill Gates sat down with Bloomberg to discuss his climate tech investments and solutions.  These two men have tremendous influence, intelligence and resources that, when combined in partnership, could do so much good for the world.  The world will never know why the two businessmen choose to keep a distance.  It's actually a bit pitiful and kind of like watching a father and son throw digs at the other every so often.  They probably could learn a fair amount of knowledge from each other if they were to put their small differences aside. There are indicators that lead me to believe that the two would get along IRL if they were both willing to clear a time in their schedules, plan a meeting and have a serious discussion about matters that are near and dear to the bot

Who is Tesla Rival Lucid Motors?

Image
The other day I came across a commercial for an unknown electric car company. I saw the bold white Lucid letters across the screen and wondered who they were. Most people are familiar with Tesla. This prompted me to look into it a bit further and I was surprised by what I learned. Lucid Motors, formerly known as startup Atieva, was founded by Bernard Tse and Sam Weng in 2007. Bernard once served as a VP and board member at Tesla for four years, after which he left to go on to establish Atieva, Inc. Atieva changed its name to Lucid Motors in 2016 and has recently introduced its first electric car called the Lucid Air. Love the name btw! Peter Rawlinson is the CTO and CEO of Lucid Motors but he was also a VP at Tesla and head engineer of the Model S. Lucid Motors is not yet public and is funded by the government of Saudi Arabia (PIF). Since we know that Peter designed Model S, lets try to understand how it compares to the 2021 Lucid Air. Lucid Air has a retail starting price of $69,900

Battle of the CEOs: Elon Musk Shades Bill Gates on Vaccines

Image
Elon Musk and Bill Gates were verbal players in a game of major shade recently. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft has been busy leading efforts to find a workable vaccine as Covid-19 continues to spread through the nation. Gates is a major proponent of vaccination, having said in August, “ If 30%-60% of Americans take the vaccine, exponential spread will stop. It will bring the pandemic to an end.” Mr. Gates has committed to funding an insurmountable sum to vaccine development as well as coronavirus vaccine research. Yesterday, Elon Musk was very vocal about his position on vaccination as it relates to the coronavirus. When asked if he would get a vaccine on a NYT opinion podcast, he issued a sharp, “NO!” He also implied that his children will not be receiving one either. The CEOs’ public spat began in July when Bill Gates expressed disapproval of Musk’s stance concerning the pandemic. “Elon’s positioning is to maintain a high level of outrageous comments,” said Gates. “He’s not much
