Butter Made from Thin Air and Eggs Made from Plants

Image
There's a green company in town that is creating something out of nothing.  That something is delightfully rich butter.  This butter is vegan and made from thin air.  Yes--you heard that right.  The butter is made from air; utilizing real fat and without any impact to the environment.  Savor is the company behind this new and revolutionary fat making process.  To make the butter or fat, a carbon source is heated with hydrogen and is later mixed with oxygen from the air. Photo by Savor Savor was founded by Kathleen Alexander in San Jose, California. Their mission is to commercially produce agriculture free, healthy fats in a way that doesn't negatively affect the environment. The fats are produced without dangerous chemicals and toxins.  Butter is the first type of food that Savor has created but company has plans to expand and begin producing these fats for other foods such as ice cream, milk, cheese and meat.  These foods will all be made without any animal suffering or agricu

The First Bio-Based Cars

Image
Cadillac recently introduced the Sollei , a green concept vehicle which incorporates bio-based materials.  The Cadillac Sollei is an electric luxurious convertible which features interiors made from Fine Mycelium™ by MycoWorks.  The luxury biobased material was grown from mushroom roots.   The material was incorporated into the wireless charging pad, interior door map pockets and behind the screen.   The interior décor is wrapped in unstained wood veneers while the windshields are framed in brushed aluminum.  The Sollei boasts a luxury Manila cream finish, a pale creamy yellow hue that was used in 1957 and 1958 models. The name “Sollei” has root word SOL (meaning sun) and LEI (meaning leisure).  It was Cadillac’s mission to design a vehicle which is representative of an “open-air, leisurely lifestyle.”  Design director, Erin Crossley expressed the vision for the Cadillac Sollei.   “SOLLEI reimagines the discovery of travel, envisioning a personalized driving experience that connects

Who is Tesla Rival Lucid Motors?

Image
The other day I came across a commercial for an unknown electric car company. I saw the bold white Lucid letters across the screen and wondered who they were. Most people are familiar with Tesla. This prompted me to look into it a bit further and I was surprised by what I learned. Lucid Motors, formerly known as startup Atieva, was founded by Bernard Tse and Sam Weng in 2007. Bernard once served as a VP and board member at Tesla for four years, after which he left to go on to establish Atieva, Inc. Atieva changed its name to Lucid Motors in 2016 and has recently introduced its first electric car called the Lucid Air. Love the name btw! Peter Rawlinson is the CTO and CEO of Lucid Motors but he was also a VP at Tesla and head engineer of the Model S. Lucid Motors is not yet public and is funded by the government of Saudi Arabia (PIF). Since we know that Peter designed Model S, lets try to understand how it compares to the 2021 Lucid Air. Lucid Air has a retail starting price of $69,900

Conscious Travel Series: Garden Car Kensington Market, Toronto

Image
There’s an outrageously, spray-painted car sitting pretty in Kensington Market, Toronto. It is unlike any other car you’ve ever seen before!! The car is home to trees, shrubbery, plants and flowers which appear to be growing out of it. It’s an eclectic, eye-catching and staple green landmark in the Kensington Market neighborhood of Toronto. Longtime residents have described the Kensington Market area as multicultural, walkable, bohemian and artsy. garden car art is right at home in this vicinity. The idea for Garden Car originated with anti-car advocacy organization, Streets are for People. The first car created under the organization was a part of the Community Vehicular Reclamation Project. The car has since changed bodies and is now a maroon, blue and green vintage sedan which was salvaged from a junk yard. The most unique aspect of the car is the garden growing out of it, which continues to attract tourists looking to get a shot with the green work of art. The city of Toronto v

Model Y will be the perfect vehicle for the environmentally conscious parents with a small brood. Running on battery power, Tesla’s Model Y will go the distance of 239 miles. Luxury features in the Model Y include a panoramic glass roof similar to its predecessor. At design studio Musk gives us quite the picture stating, “It just feels like you can see the sky.” The Model Y begins at $39000 for base version and can inch upwards of $60000 after selecting additional features.
