Should Elon Musk Sit Down With Bill Gates to Discuss Climate?

Image
The beef soup between Bill Gates and Elon Musk doesn't seem to be simmering down any time soon!  The two had a small online spat during the pandemic in 2020 but it seems that engine has revved up again recently when Bill Gates sat down with Bloomberg to discuss his climate tech investments and solutions.  These two men have tremendous influence, intelligence and resources that, when combined in partnership, could do so much good for the world.  The world will never know why the two businessmen choose to keep a distance.  It's actually a bit pitiful and kind of like watching a father and son throw digs at the other every so often.  They probably could learn a fair amount of knowledge from each other if they were to put their small differences aside. There are indicators that lead me to believe that the two would get along IRL if they were both willing to clear a time in their schedules, plan a meeting and have a serious discussion about matters that are near and dear to the bot

MyBacon Vegan Mycelium Bacon Review

Image
There’s been a recent shift in the vegan meat market to incorporate a beneficial part of mushroom—mycelium. Mycelium is the hidden root-like structure of fungi that is found in the soil underneath it.  Mycelium consists of a network of thin fungal strands called hyphae. The mycelium provides nutrients and digestive enzymes to its host source.  While on the prowl for the best vegan bacon, I came across a brand that I’d never seen before.  MyBacon produces a farm grown mycelium plant-based bacon.  The Challenge of Finding a Good Vegan Bacon     When I saw the brand at Whole Foods, I automatically thought highly of its packaging which displayed pictures of the juicy looking vegan bacon that truly resembled real bacon. MyBacon mycelium bacon  costs $9 a package. Why it's the same price as actual organic bacon I have no idea but it's no problem because it’s super hard out here to find vegan bacon that actually tastes good. After trying all the brands available for plant-based bacon

Native Girl Scout Limited Edition Collection Review

Image
If you are a regular Native customer then you might have heard about their limited edition Girl Scout cookie scented collection.  As a former girl scout, I wholeheartedly support this collaboration.  Girl Scouts is a non profit organization that provides life changing experiences for girls of all ages.  The collection is licensed by the Girl Scout organization.   Native body washes are a self-care staple.  I was able to try three scents from the Girl Scout collection.  Here are three reasons why I am a huge fan of their body washes: 1. Scents- Native offers a large variety of scents that actually smell delightfully good. Whether you’re in the mood for fruity, sweet, floral or clean scents, the scents totally deliver! I don’t know how Native manages to do it but the scents are always true to what it should be smelling like. 2. Value- Now I don’t know about you but I love cleanliness and showering is always important. If you shower frequently, then you probably know how small body wash b

Battle of the Prepared Meal Programs: FACTOR 75 vs. Cook Unity

Image
I’ve been trying popular meal kit and prepared meal programs so that you can make an informed decision about which is best for you!  The point is also to inform consumers about what their food will look like in reality as well as what they can expect when they join.  I came across an ad for Factor a few hours before I saw one for a similar company named Cook Unity.   I actually signed up with Factor75 first but I paused my first box after I visited Cook Unity’s website.  I’m glad that I did as I have another company to compare Factor75 to.   Factor75 isn’t like your Hello Fresh, Marley Spoon, Dinnerly and Green Chefs of the world.  Companies such as Factor and Cook Unity prepare the food and ship them to you already cooked. They sell individualized prepared meals and there is no cooking or food prep involved.  You select the meals that you desire, they’ll arrive to your door and voila…it’s heat and eat time! Now, I could sum this up in one sentence and make the recommendation for the p

Cooking Unified: Here’s What I Love about Cook Unity!

Image
I was scrolling down my social media fashion filled timeline when a company by the name of Cook Unity suddenly appeared. The ad was very simple and it contained photos of scrumptious food; enough to draw any foodie in! I thought to myself..there’s no way this is a regular meal delivery company.  Everything looked so palatable and enticing!   Signing up with Cook Unity was more than a breeze. The ad brought me to the website and I signed up immediately.  Cook Unity offers a wealth of meal selections.  Whatever your tastebuds are desiring, they have it all.  You will get the chance to taste the world whether it’s Latin, African, Asian or Italian food, they’ve got a great gourmet pick.  Cook Unity has the most diverse meal selections that I’ve seen of any meal delivery program—one advantage that they have over other meal delivery companies such as Hello Fresh, Gobble or Green Chef.                                              Salmon Teriyaki with Brown Rice, Brussel Sprouts & Carrots

Fenty Skin Review: Is it Really Clean?

Image
Rihanna released a skin care collection consisting of three products at the end of July after the success of her company, Fenty Beauty cosmetics. The latest product to be released in the Fenty skin range is the Instant Reset Gel Recovery Cream. The two products that I’ve tried are the 'Fat Water' which is a pore refining toner serum and the Instant Reset Recovery Cream. Fat Water is a transparent pink hue that looks like water but has a weightier volume. It’s easy to understand why this toner serum was nameD ‘Fat Water.’ Fat Water has a mix of fruit and plant based ingredients such as cactus flower, acerola and fig fruit extracts and even vitamin B3 (Niacinamide). After using the product for over a month, I can say that it certainly does not dry out facial skin and it tightens and diminishes pores with great success. I think Fat Water is an amazing facial toner!!! It’s skin refreshing abilities are superior to others. The Instant Reset Recovery Gel has a very familiar fragrance

Green Festival Expo 2016 Review: Hush + Dotti

Image
There were so many amazing brands and companies that were in attendance at the 2016 Green Festival Expo in NYC. Here is a product review of one of cosmetic company, Hush + Dotti. Hush + Dotti Review Firstly…can I just talk about the name of this company?! Hush + Dotti is such a cute name!!!! Oh, how I love it!  I stopped by the Hush & Dotti’s vendor area when I saw all the pretty organic lipsticks and other cosmetics that were organized on the table.  Dina was very pleasant in answering questions that I had about the products.  I remember asking her if the one shade of red lipstick was the only one they carried.  It was nice but I desired a hue that was a bit brighter!  Instead, I opted for a coral colored lipstick, which looks fantastic on tanned/darker complexions.  The shade name is Dotti.  I also chose a lip gloss that is a glossy shade of burgundy in shade Wendi.  It’s pretty amazing!!  The packaging is really chic and minimal for cosmetics.  The lipsticks are in a standard bl

ORGANIQUE BY HIMALAYA NEEM & POMEGRANATE TOOTHPASTE REVIEW

Image
If you were left on an island with only one personal care item allowed what would you choose? If toothpaste was your answer, then by golly, we've sure got something in common. Toothpaste is absolutely necessary for maintaining basic hygiene and personal health. The average person brushes their teeth at least twice a day. The ingredients of toothpaste should always be read and understood by the conscious human being. That white, gooey or clear, jelly matter goes into your mouth every day. If you've become especially concerned about your toothpaste's ingredients and have decided to stay clear of dental hygienic items with fluoride, artificial colors and sodium lauryl sulfate, then you might take an interest in Himalaya by Botanique's neem and pomegranate toothpaste. This is one of the only toothpastes that consists of Ayurvedic herbs like neem and amla. Himalaya by Botanique was definitely on to something by utilizing neem in this toothpaste. Neem has some very potent ant

Shea Terra Organics Mongongo & Banana Hair Food Masque Review

Image
If you haven't heard of Shea-Terra Organics, your skin, hair and body are definitely missing out on some luxurious and scrumptious treats.  Shea Terra Organics utilizes shea butter as a main ingredient in many of their products.  The ingredients used in the skin and hair products at Shea Terra are sourced from Africa and contain therapeutic and healing properties.  The Mongongo & Banana Hair Food Masque is a rich shea based conditioner.  The masque is 30% shea butter and this can certainly be felt when applying the masque to the hair.  Light orange in color, the masque has a lightly whipped consistency.  It's a thick creme and  It doesn't disintegrate too well.  This product was applied to thick, textured, curly hair over the course of three months.  The product has a tendency to sit on top of the hair.  Shea butter has very strong emollient properties and can be a really awesome moisturizer.  As much as we wanted to really love this product, it failed to happen.  Deep

SUNCOAT COSMETICS NON TOXIC NAIL ART POLISH REVIEW

Image
It was pretty exciting to find a nail art set that was all natural.  If you are familiar with natural nail polishes, you know that it's rare to come across an all natural nail art set. It was wonderful to know that there was a natural alternative for women who enjoy doing creative designs. Suncoat Cosmetics is a Canadian company that sells all natural makeup.  Suncoat cosmetics makes three different nail art sets which come in a variety of colors.  The set that is being reviewed here is called "Earth."  The earth set consists of a white, orange, pink and mint green.  They are mineral based nail polishes and the size of the bottles are 0.26 oz each.  This nail art set did NOT deliver.  When applying the brush to nails, you'll find that the colors are extremely sheer.  The white hardly shows and it is more of a pearly, sheer, ivory color.  When trying to create french tips, the white polish in this package was not able to create a nice white line.  Even after piling on

Boots Botanics Body Butter 10.14 fl oz REVIEW

Image
Boots No. 7 is the # 1 drugstore brand in Great Britain. Boots No. 7 is a brand that carries cosmetics, skin care and beauty products. Boots Botanics introduced the Botanics line which boasts a variety of anti-aging products, skin and body care products that are plant based.  Our first purchase from the Boots Botanics line was the organic body butter. It is made with plant extracts, essential oils, and nourishing butters like shea and cocoa seed butter. After trying this product for about a month, it would only be right to do a short and conclusive review on this product.  This body butter is 85% organic.  This means that 85% of the ingredients have been certified organic by the proper certification body in the UK.  This is not to be confused with the Boots No. 7 body butter. That particular product does not contain certified organic ingredients. The Boots Botanics organic body butter is thick and creamy in consistency.  Upon using this product, you should be sure to take a good amount
