The Princess of Wales brings Awareness to Holistic Healthcare Upon Completion of Three Peaks Challenge

The Princess of Wales completed the Three Peaks challenge over the weekend.  The challenge involves a blend of driving and trekking through three of the highest mountain peaks in England, Scotland and Wales--Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa. The challenge areas cover 23 miles of walking distance along with a 462 mile drive between each peak.   The challenge is open to the public and many aim to walk to the summit of the peaks within 24 hours.  However, the trek is so grueling and extensive that only 40% of the individuals attempting the challenge are able to complete it within this timeframe.  It is recommended that individuals desiring to complete the Three Peaks Challenge engage in strength training over a period of eight to twelve weeks. Whether Catherine engaged in strength training is unknown but she has always been quite athletic.  Not only did Catherine complete the challenge--she is part of the smaller percentage of people who were able to comp...

Ginger Lime Wellness Shots (How To)

We've jumped into a new fall season and with that comes lower humidity, colder temperatures and increased indoor gatherings.  Have you already experienced a bout with the cold or flu? Has the change in weather got you feeling down and out? Hot summer nights are over and we're all forced to give welcome to more icy temperatures and wintry mixes. Now is the time to ensure that your immune system is in the right shape to fight and fend off any of those germs and respiratory viral nasties that you may come into contact with. The more antioxidants you consume the better off your immune system will be.  Ginger has a whole host of benefits for the body but most importantly, it is a supreme immune system strengthener.

This funny looking root is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient that can help protect against inflammatory diseases and fight off free radical agents.  It's an amazing natural ingredient that can also help to improve brain function where memory and focus are concerned.  Anti-inflammatory ginger lime shots can be consumed on the daily for maintaining good immune system function and not solely when sick.  This shot is very potent but it does what it is supposed to do! Get rid of that cold and congestion in no time.

Ingredients

(2) - (3) whole ginger roots

(2) Limes

1.5 cups of alkaline water

2 tablespoons agave nectar

2 cups of alkaline water

Tools

Handheld strainer

Blender

Knife

Peeler

Pitcher

Shot glasses

Miniature funnel

Steps

1.) Peel ginger by removing as much of the outer layer as you can. It can be a little hard to maneuver as this aromatic herb has a number of bends and corners.

2.) After peeling, chop the ginger into small sections and add to your blender.

3.) Add 1.5 cups of alkaline water into the blender and turn your blender to a medium-high setting for 2-3 minutes.  Achieving a thick pureed liquid consistency is the goal.

4.) Take the strainer and pour contents of ginger mixture into the strainer while using a small pitcher to catch the purée free concentrated liquid.

5.) Slice two limes into halves and squeeze lime juice into the purée free ginger concentrate.

6.) Add 2 cups of water to mixture along with agave nectar to the ginger lime concentrate.

7.)  Using your funnel, pour the concentrate into shot glasses with lids and store in refrigerator.

8.) Tilt that head back and drink up quickly. Take in the good energetic jolt that you will feel afterwards.

Don't worry...the slight burning sensation will subside in a few moments.
