Meal Kits are Taking Over the USofA Who knew that prep (meal kit) and no prep (heat and eat) meal delivery services would eventually become the future?  When it comes to cooking, either you know how to do it or you do not.  If you fall into the latter category, you probably get by ordering out everyday or if you have the means, hire a private chef.  What I love most about meal delivery services is that it doesn't matter what category you fall into! If you don't know how to cook, you can most certainly learn through prep (meal kit) based meal delivery services.  On the other hand, if you are an experienced cook, prep and no prep delivery plans allow for the food experimenter to achieve the bliss of food diversity.  Eating the same foods over and over can get a bit boring!  If you're someone who loves to try new foods and recipes ALL the time, meal delivery services may be the route that you need to take.  Thanks to food delivery services such as Hello F...

WeWork Reduces Carbon Footprint with Meat Ban

Wework is taking steps towards drastically reducing their corporate carbon footprint. The company issued an announcement this week stating that they are banning employees from expensing meals that contain red meat, poultry and pork. This meat-banning move will also include those meals served at corporate events.
WeWork decided to incorporate a meat ban due to research, which suggests that taking meat out of one’s diet can be most impactful for reducing the environmental issues that this global society faces. Miguel Mckelvey, CEO of WeWork, stated to employees:

“New research indicates that avoiding meat is one of the biggest things an individual can do to reduce their personal environmental impact, even more than switching to a hybrid car.”
The self-serve kiosks in WeWorks’ 400 locations will no longer have meat on the menu. WeWork estimates that 15, 507, 103 animals, 16 billion gallons of water and 445 million pounds of carbon dioxide will be will be saved by 2023 due to this initiative. The company also recently began a plastic reduction campaign before embarking on the meat ban.
This meat ban by We Works is most certainly a step in the right direction for the global landscape of corporations and businesses. WeWork boasts over 6,000 employees worldwide so the move will definitely prove to be significant over time. The move will also serve as an inspiring example for other businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact.

Not only is red meat consumption bad for the environment, it is also very harmful to one’s health. Please be sure to view our article discussing the dangers of red meat consumption.

Being conscious of one’s food choices is the best way to reduce your personal carbon footprint. We are advocates for a future world where all foods are plant based. We’re extremely proud and thankful for companies such as New Wave Foods and Beyond Meat who are using sustainable methods for developing vegetarian meat that actually taste great!
