Remembering Arts Champion and Environmental Trailblazer, Robert Redford

Robert Redford passed away on the 17th day of September 2025 in his beloved home of Sundance, Utah. Redford was everyone’s favorite actor’s favorite actor.  He was a fixture in the world of Hollywood and an Academy Award winning actor and director whose work spanned many decades.  He has starred in notable films such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Great Gatsby (1974), The Sting (1974), Out of Africa (1985),  Indecent Proposal (1993), Avengers: Endgame (2019) as well as Broadway shows such as  Sunday in New York (1963) and  Barefoot in the Park (1963). While driving through Provo Canyon on a motorbike, Redford took in the scenery and instantly knew that he wanted to make a home there.  Always an avid lover of nature, Robert was mesmerized by the landscapes of Utah and sought to purchase more than 5,000 acres of land in Sundance while keeping the goals of preservation and conservation in mind. Happy Earth Day!!!

We've managed to make it through a quarter of a year! 2017 is certainly flying by supremely fast! We've also made it to another earth day! Every day is Earth Day for us here at Green News Guide. We're always brainstorming and thinking of ways that we can improve this great big home that we call Earth!





Some facts about the history of Earth Day:
  • The very first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970
  • Gaylord Nelson, a Wisconsin senator, felt that public consciousness was necessary
  • Nelson along with Pete Mcclosky organized the first ever earth day in 1970.
  • Over 20 million people gathered together for a peaceful demonstration and to also raise public awareness about environmental issues.
  • Senator Nelson was granted the presidential medal of freedom by Bill Clinton in 1995 for being the founder of earth day!

As we ponder current concerns today, such as air and water pollution, energy usage, conservation, and global warming, let's remember and honor the man who pioneered the earth day movement! Senator gaylord nelson! As we approach the 50th anniversary of earth day, I ask that all earth conscious citizens rise up to say thank you to senator Nelson. he had a vision for the earth and he followed it. May he rest in peace!

PETA Protester Confronts Pharrell Williams During Film Premiere

A protester from the organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), disrupted a speech being given by Pharrell Williams at a Biopic Premiere in Toronto.  She rushed the stage with a white sign in her hand that read:  Pharrell: Stop Supporting Killing Animals for Fashion.  Pharrell was in Toronto to support his LEGO biopic entitled, Piece by Piece.   The protester directed a number of statements towards Pharrell and the audience concerning his role as men's creative director at Louis Vuitton.   "Your Louis Vuitton collection … Pharrell’s collection is made from their blood,” the protester shouted to the audience. “Pharrell stop torturing animals! Ostriches are being hung upside down, electrocuted with their necks slit.”   PETA is petitioning Louis Vuitton to stop abusing animals and using their bodily materials for the purpose of fashion creation.  During the protest, Pharrell made a pause during his speech and outright...

Nikocado Avocado Woke up 250lbs Lighter! Vegan Again?!

The Mukbang king, Nikocado Avocado, broke his 7 month silence after uploading a video to his channel last night.   He first appeared in the video wearing a big Panda head mask.  Beyond that gigantic panda mask, there was something noticeably different about Nick!   There was a super thin body under the mask!  Could this be a clone of Nikocado?  Is this really the same person who would down several cheeseburgers, nuggets, stuffed tacos and huge plates of noodles in one sitting?  Nikocado is the self proclaimed mukbang king of the internet and with that title came loads of weight gain.
