Fragrance and perfume is a delight of life.   It has the ability to invoke and stir emotions, memories and create special moments.   Fragrances can convey a mood and they can be an expression of identity and inner confidence.   Two years ago, Green News Guide introduced our Clean, Organic and Natural Perfume guide which contains a list of brands that make or manufacture perfumes that are free from carcinogenic substances such as phthalates and parabens.   If you are clearing out your beauty stash and venturing out to clean beauty, here are a few clean scent faves. Phlur Heavy Cream Hair & Body Fine Fragrance Mist $26 3oz Phlur’s Heavy Cream is a mega popular scent for a good reason.   This scent is heavy on the vanilla with subtle notes of cream, coconut and caramel.   It’s an amazing scent for layering with stronger fragrances that mesh well with a gourmand profile.   Wear Heavy Cream on its own and be enveloped within a cloud of decadent sweet ...

Conscious Luxury Travel Series: Green Lodging at Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa

Are you looking for green accommodations for your next trip to Walt Disney World? If you are traveling to the Orlando area and consider yourself to be a conscious individual, you will probably find yourself right at home in the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa.
Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa is situated in the heart of Orlando, Florida. This beautiful, luxury resort is less than 10 minutes away from Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. This resort is a Stay Sky and Walt Disney World Good Neighbor hotel. Best of all, it is a certified Florida Green Lodging hotel. The Florida Green Lodging certification program is an initiative of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Facilities and buildings who receive the Florida Green Lodging certification strive to commit to conserve Florida’s natural resources. Facilities must demonstrate green best practices such as the usage of high efficiency lighting (CFLs), green cleaning products, water and energy conservation, waste reduction, and recycling.
It was an absolute delight to be accomodated in Lake Buena Vista Resort’s ‘Barbados’ three bedroom – two bath suite, sized at over 1,250 sq. ft. The luxury suite was gorgeous and even had a private dining area, and a fully stocked kitchen! This suite is perfect for groups or families! The suite featured granite countertops, a master bedroom with an oversized jetted tub, and an outside private balcony decked out with a table and chairs.

The hotel grounds were well manicured and immaculately clean. Depending on the building that you stay in, you’ll pass through the lush, green, picturesque outdoor area in order to make your way to the giant sized pool. You’ll be reminded of pirates and tropical delightfulness when you see the immense pirate ship sitting on top of the pool. It’s truly more than a sight to see!

One of the best parts about staying at Lake Buena Vista’s Resort Village and Spa is (you guessed it)---THE SPA! Reflections Spa Salon is located in Building 4 on the sixth floor. The founder really had health and wellness in mind when they designed this resort hotel. When I stepped out of the elevator to enter Reflections Spa, I was offered the entire spa experience.

The Reflections Spa Salon environment had everything that one would need in a spa—tranquility, stillness and serenity. They offer a range of treatments and I was happy to learn that natural skincare products and brands are utilized. The aesthetician who worked on me was really knowledgeable and offered great advice tailored for my skin. This review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention their sugar scrub. WARNING: It is just D-I-V-I-N-E and it’ll leave your skin extremely soft and moisturized.

Oh, and for any shopping lovers out there, factory outlet stores are literally just a few steps away from the resort.

If you desire a real green, relaxing escape when traveling to the Orlando area, booking this resort hotel would be an excellent idea and choice! You’ll be glad that you did!
