Man Desecrates Yellowstone Park by Frying Chicken in its Hot Spring

Did you have a laugh from that title? Because I certainly did. This is probably the most bizarre news of the entire year. A man from Idaho and two accomplices visited Yellowstone National Park and trespassed through the off limits thermal area attempting to fry two huge chickens in it. Now, nothing is wrong with outdoor cooking of course but Yellowstone National Park is a geologic wonder of the United States. It is home to the beautiful Grand Prismatic Spring, Shoshone Geyser Basin, lush forestation, rivers, canyons, wildlife and other aspects of nature.

Shoshone Basin, Yellowstone National Park

The hydrothermal springs in yellowstone are fueled by ongoing volcanic activity and make up 1/2 of the entire world’s geysers and hydrothermal features. Geyser water at Yellowstone can reach up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Pretty Hot!!

Tourists who visit the area are prohibited from putting items in the hydrothermal areas. Somehow, this man missed the memo! With cookware in tow, he brought two whole chickens to the park with the intent to fry. The chickens were found in burlap sacks by authorities of the park after they’d received reports from park goers that there were men hiking with cookware in the forbidden thermal area. Now I won’t get all PETA in this article but chicken?? The things people will do for some chicken.
If you’re going to bring food to a park, cook it beforehand rather than disturb the natural elements of a respected national treasure. Anything could have happened and eric and his two accomplices could have seriously hurt themselves. In the past, others have died or become injured at Yellowstone when trespassing though thermal areas knowingly or unknowingly.. One young child was severely burned after accidentally slipping on a wet boardwalk near West Triplet Geyser. About 20 people (majority children and teens) have died from burn injuries at Yellowstone National Park.

These national parks are there to preserve national landscapes and for humans to appreciate and admire the beauty of nature.

It’s okay to be a risk-taker but not a mindless one. Hot geysers aren’t for frying chickens. Someone please buy this Man a couple of deep fryers so that he will never entertain the idea of frying meat in thermal springs.

It turns out that he won’t be—at least at Yellowstone that is. Eric Romriell, Eric Roberts and Dallas Roberts have been banned from Yellowstone park. Romriell was fined $1200.00 for violating park limit and closure rules. he will also have to undergo probation.
